Privacy Policy

This is a founder-drafted starting point, not legal advice. Have a lawyer review before treating this as binding, especially before charging real money at scale or operating in multiple jurisdictions.

Project Beta (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a community management platform built by Hot Sales Ventures. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices, for both community owners (admins who run a workspace on Project Beta) and members (people added to a community by an admin).

1. What we collect

From community owners (account holders):

  • Name, email address, and login credentials
  • Community/workspace details you enter (name, type, structure)
  • Payment method connection details (e.g. your own Paystack account reference) — see Section 4, we never hold your funds
  • Billing information for your Project Beta subscription

From members (added by a community owner):

  • Name, email, and/or phone number, as entered by the admin or submitted via a self-service signup link
  • Attendance, check-in, tier, and payment-status records the admin maintains
  • Any data an admin chooses to store in custom workspace tables

Automatically:

  • Basic usage and log data (pages visited, actions taken) to keep the product working and to improve it
  • Standard web analytics on the marketing site (getprojectbeta.com)

2. How we use it

  • To operate the product: attendance tracking, broadcasts, automations, reports, and the CIE Assistant
  • To send transactional email/SMS (welcome messages, receipts, admin broadcasts the admin initiates)
  • To improve and secure the platform
  • To communicate with community owners about their account

We do not sell member or admin data to third parties.

3. Email & SMS

Community owners use Project Beta to send broadcasts to their own members. By adding a member's contact information, the admin confirms they have a lawful basis to contact that person (e.g. the member joined voluntarily or was informed their organization uses Project Beta). Members can request removal from an admin's community at any time by contacting that admin directly, or by contacting us at hello@getprojectbeta.com if the admin is unresponsive.

4. Payments

Project Beta does not process, hold, or have access to community funds at any point. Payment collection happens one of two ways:

  • Manual tracking: the admin marks dues as paid themselves; no money moves through Project Beta at all.
  • Paystack (admin's own account): the admin connects their own Paystack account; Project Beta only receives confirmation webhooks to keep records accurate. We never touch, custody, or route the money.

Project Beta's own subscription fees (Free/Starter/Pro/Enterprise plans) are billed separately and are not related to member dues.

5. Data storage & security

Data is stored with Supabase, using row-level security so that each community's data is isolated from every other community. We take reasonable technical measures to protect data but cannot guarantee absolute security — no platform can.

6. Data retention & deletion

Community owners can delete member records within their workspace at any time. If a community owner closes their account, we retain data for 30 days before permanent deletion, in case of accidental cancellation. Members or admins can request full deletion sooner by contacting hello@getprojectbeta.com.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact hello@getprojectbeta.com to make a request.

8. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices change and update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated to account holders by email.
